THE HEART BEHIND THE BRAND

Meet the owners

“We share our home that has been built with great love and care..”

— Sherri Stephens

Hello! We are The Stephens

It is super exciting, and with overflowing gratitude we welcome you to Magnolia Acres.

How did we get to be the owners of this magnificent property? Our story begins in 1980 when Kirk and I met in our church. Not long after, he begged me to be his wife so we married in 1982. It was many years before that Kirk had set goals of saving and building his family’s first home; his prayers and hard work paid off when (with a lot of help from his family) he did just that. He had decided on building in the Spring area to stay close to family.

Early 1984 we had our son, Chad followed by daughter Nicole in late 1995. We made lots of great memories there, and as the kids grew we began to think about moving out of that busy area to something a little more slow paced. Also, I had always dreamed about remodeling an old home. ( be careful what you ask for)

While helping friends move into their new place in Decker Prairie in 1996, we found this wonderful property! The home was built in 1899 and was in need of intense repair and updating. I cannot begin to tell you the work Kirk has put in over the decades, making this place what it is today!

We are so blessed to have our daughter and her family close in Tomball and our son and his family in Bryan/ College Station not far down the road. Our family has walked through some stormy seasons, but our God has been so very faithful as we strived to let him hold the place of highest priority in our lives as well as our home.

Previously owned by Mr. & Mrs. Baysinger. They soon became dear friends. Sharing the backstory of the property through sharing facts and faded pictures. They even shared a marriage license and additional documents from the Windorf’s family. The small building at the front of our property (that now serves as our indoor photography studio) was built as a church by a man of great faith. As you enter, you will see these and other pieces of the story on our history wall. After this glimpse of the past and a visit in the present, you will understand just how special this place is!

Kirk and I cannot wait to meet you! As we share our home that has been built with great love and care.

As we continue to grow Magnolia Acres, our goal is to provide a place for you to make – and leave with memories that will last forever!
